India’s leading entertainment studio Balaji Telefilms Ltd, known for defining the country’s television and digital content for over two decades, has announced a strategic partnership with Eloelo Group’s Story TV, a pioneering micro drama platform boasting over one crore users. The collaboration aims to reshape short-form storytelling by introducing original, mobile-first micro dramas deeply rooted in Indian narratives.
According to a Balaji Telefilms press release, the partnership will introduce a slate of fresh titles spanning multiple genres, languages, and themes. These projects will bring together leading talent and innovative storylines that promise to redefine the micro drama format for digital audiences.
Saurabh Pandey, Founder and CEO of Story TV, expressed enthusiasm about the collaboration, calling it a defining moment for India’s microdrama ecosystem. “We are delighted to partner with Balaji Telefilms to reimagine the Indian microdrama ecosystem with a line-up of stories and characters that will be industry firsts. Balaji has been a pioneer in shaping Indian entertainment with their creative storytelling. I strongly believe micro dramas will be more than a $5 billion market in the next three years and will unlock a new form of storytelling, with Story TV leading from the front. Together with Balaji, our exclusive partnership will make micro dramas a staple across India, in line with the growing demand for stories that are entertaining, immersive, and mobile-first,” he said.
Echoing the sentiment, Ekta Kapoor, Joint Managing Director of Balaji Telefilms Ltd, described the alliance as “a game-changer, setting the stage for powerful, fresh storytelling that’s fearless and fast-paced.” With Balaji’s strong legacy of iconic television serials, groundbreaking films, and successful digital originals, the partnership brings together the company’s storytelling prowess with Story TV’s cutting-edge vertical video expertise.
Sanjay Dwivedi, CEO of Balaji Telefilms, emphasised that the partnership reflects Balaji’s commitment to staying in tune with evolving audience preferences. “At Balaji, our constant endeavour has been to evolve with the audience and the platforms they love. Micro dramas represent an exciting frontier — short, impactful, and designed for today’s mobile-first viewers. This collaboration with Story TV allows us to take our storytelling legacy into a new format, one that’s fast, fresh, and deeply connected to the pulse of digital India. We’re excited to experiment, innovate, and create stories that will set new benchmarks in this emerging space,” he said.
This first-of-its-kind collaboration in India’s micro drama ecosystem marks a significant milestone for both Story TV and Balaji Telefilms. By blending Balaji’s creative legacy with Story TV’s tech-driven approach to content creation, the partnership is set to deliver engaging, culturally rich, and emotionally resonant stories designed for today’s vertical video generation—ushering in a new era for Indian short-form entertainment.
