The much-anticipated teaser of ‘Baida’, a sci-fi supernatural thriller directed by Puneet Sharma, has finally been unveiled, stirring excitement across the internet. Blending ancient Indian beliefs with science fiction, the film promises a dark and immersive cinematic experience.
The 1-minute-42-second teaser opens with a shloka from the Bhagavad Gita, emphasizing the immortality of the soul, “Nainaṃ chindanti śastrāṇi nainaṃ dahati pāvakaḥ, na chainaṃ kledayantyāpo na śoṣayati mārutaḥ.”
As the visuals unfold, Sudhanshu Rai, who leads the film, is seen entering a sinister dimension, confronting a demonic force lurking in the shadows.
Set against fog-shrouded forests, mysterious bonfires, and eerie British-era prisoners, BAIDA follows the protagonist’s battle with a dark force that threatens his existence. The teaser introduces a Sarangi player warning of the forest’s eerie nature, a landscape where the supernatural intertwines with reality. The intriguing cinematography and intense background score add to the film’s gripping atmosphere.
The film features a powerful ensemble cast, including Hiten Tejwani, Sourabh Raaj Jain, Tarun Khanna, and Manisha Rai, portraying characters unlike anything seen before. Fans have already drawn comparisons to Tumbbad, Kantara, and Stranger Things, hinting at the film’s unique blend of Indian folklore and global sci-fi elements.
Notably, BAIDA marks the on-screen debut of Doctor Shekhawat, a popular fictional character created by Sudhanshu Rai, played by Tarun Khanna.
Shot extensively in Gorakhpur and Delhi, the film has been edited by Kantara-fame Pratheek Shetty and is set for a nationwide release on March 21, 2025, distributed by Panorama Studios.
Director Puneet Sharma assured audiences of a thrilling, unexpected journey, saying:
“BAIDA is a rollercoaster ride filled with mystery, suspense, and intense storytelling. We are overwhelmed by the response to the teaser and can’t wait for audiences to experience it in theatres.”
With its captivating visuals, dark dimensions, and a storyline deeply rooted in Indian folklore, BAIDA has cemented itself as one of the most awaited films of 2025. Fans eagerly await its release, ready to be transported into a world beyond imagination.
