Avtr Meta Labs, a leading innovator in AI-driven virtual influencer technology, has partnered with the Ministry of Information & Broadcasting (MIB) to unveil India’s First AI Avatar Creator Contest.
This pioneering contest will be a major highlight at the World Audio Visual & Entertainment Summit (WAVES) 2025, set to take place from February 5th to 9th at Bharat Mandapam, New Delhi.
According to Avtr Meta Labs, the contest, aimed at merging artificial intelligence with creative expression, offers participants a unique platform to showcase their skills in AI-powered digital artistry. WAVES is a globally recognized platform that highlights India’s growing influence in content creation and digital storytelling. The 2025 edition will feature a wide range of events, bringing together industry leaders, creators, and stakeholders from around the world to discuss the future of media, creativity, and technology. The AI Avatar Creator Contest, one of 25 distinctive contests under the “Create in India Challenge – Season 1,” was officially launched by Ashwini Vaishnaw, Minister of Information & Broadcasting.
The contest invites participants from all over India to develop AI-driven virtual avatars, using cutting-edge open-source and licensed tools. Creators will be evaluated based on the originality and purpose of their avatars, the creativity and technical execution in design, and their innovative application of AI technology. This challenge is set to push the boundaries of digital storytelling and character design, providing a fresh perspective on how AI can enhance content creation.
In addition to industry exposure, the contest offers enticing rewards. The top 10 finalists will receive certificates of participation, while the top 3 will have the opportunity to present their creations at WAVES 2025. The grand prize winner will be awarded ₹1 Lakh, potentially launching their career in India’s burgeoning AI and digital content landscape.
