According to new data released on Monday, Apple sold 2 million iPhones in India during the holiday quarter (Q4) of 2022, representing an 18 percent increase (quarter-on-quarter) for its flagship device.
The market share of iPhones in India has increased by 11 percent to 5.5 percent by 2022.
In 2021, Apple iPhones had grown by 48 percent year on year, with a 4.4 percent market share in the country.
According to the most recent CMR data, the iPhone 14 series accounted for 59 percent of the market in Q4 2022, followed by the iPhone 13 series, which grew by 32 percent.
Apple also sold 0.2 million iPads in India in the fourth quarter, with the iPad Pro 2022 Series seeing a 30 percent increase, IANS reported from San Francisco.
Apple currently controls approximately 5 percent of the Indian smartphone market.
The iPhone maker is now seriously considering expanding its supply chain in India and Vietnam over the next 2-3 years.
