Prime Video has unveiled its latest documentary series, ‘AP Dhillon: First Of A Kind,’ which is set to premiere on August 18.
The series centers around the rising star AP Dhillon, also known as Amritpal Singh Dhillon, a talented singer-rapper renowned for his chart-topping tracks like ‘Brown Munde,’ ‘Insane,’ and ‘Excuses.’
The Amazon Original series is an unscripted journey that delves into the life of the self-made Indo-Canadian musician, tracing his humble beginnings in Gurdaspur, Punjab, to his meteoric rise in the music industry.
The show also explores Dhillon’s association with Run-Up Records, a Canadian record label, which played a pivotal role in catapulting him to global stardom, PTI reported.
Through a mix of personal accounts and interviews with close family and friends, viewers will gain an intimate insight into Dhillon’s world.
Aparna Purohit, Head of India Originals at Prime Video, expressed excitement about exploring the world of Punjabi hip-hop through this series, citing Dhillon’s inspiring journey to superstardom.
The four-part docuseries is a collaborative effort between Passion Pictures, Wild Sheep Content and Run-Up Records. Amy Foster, executive producer at Passion Pictures, hopes that the series will serve as a source of inspiration for young people, showcasing Dhillon’s remarkable story of perseverance, friendship, and staying true to his creative vision.
Erik Barmack, executive producer at Wild Sheep Content, shared the excitement of unraveling the enigma of Dhillon’s journey, which has captivated audiences worldwide.
‘AP Dhillon: First Of A Kind’ is all set to premiere not only in India but also across 240+ countries and territories on August 18.
