The release of Anupam Kher and Mithun Chakraborthy-starrer ‘The Kashmir Files’ has been pushed indefinitely, days before its scheduled arrival on January 26, due to the ongoing COVID-19 situation in the country, the makers have announced.
There were reports that the release of the multilingual film would be postponed in the wake of the pandemic.
Written and Directed by Vivek Ranjan Agnihotri, the release of ‘The Kashmir Files’ was clouded in uncertainty ever since two other big films, Shahid Kapoor-starrer ‘Jersey’ and SS Rajamouli’s magnum opus ‘RRR’ also had to postpone their release dates due to the spike in Omicron variant cases, ANI reported from Mumbai.
“Due to the significant spike in Covid cases in the country and the current scenario of theatres being partially or fully shut down in many states, we have decided to postpone the release of our movie ‘The Kashmir Files’. Let’s fight the pandemic together. Wear mask and stay safe,” Zee Studios said in a statement.
‘The Kashmir Files’is based on the genocide of Kashmiri Hindus. Actors Pallavi Joshi and Darshan Kumar are also a part of it.
