Amazon MX Player is all set to launch its much-awaited romance drama, ‘Ek Farzi Love Story’, which dives into the emotional turbulence of love, fame, and the complexities of modern relationships in today’s digital era.
Premiering on January 10, the series promises to captivate audiences with its compelling exploration of the blurring lines between online personas and real-life emotions.
Created by Sumrit Shahi and Durjoy Datta, and directed by Aarambhh M Singh, ‘Ek Farzi…’introduces viewers to Kritika and Manav — two individuals from vastly different worlds, yet brought together by the chaos of social media and modern-day relationships.
While Kritika is a content creator navigating the world of influencers, Manav, a chartered accountant, remains skeptical of social media’s allure. The story takes a dramatic turn when a viral video of their banter thrusts them into the spotlight, forcing them into a faux relationship to cater to their growing online following.
The trailer, now available, promises an emotional rollercoaster as it teases the couple’s transformation from a staged relationship into a genuine, deeply emotional journey.
The cast includes Anshuman Malhotra as Manav, Reem Sameer Shaikh as Kritika, and supporting performances from Mansi Taxak, Mohit Hiranandani, and Abhishek Verma.
Amogh Dusad, Head of Content at Amazon MX Player, said, “With ‘Ek Farzi Love Story’, we’re bringing a unique narrative to our viewers that captures the unpredictable nature of modern relationships, especially the influence of social media in shaping lives and connections.”
Sanket Kunde, Vice President at Dice Media, highlighted the excitement of this project, marking it as their first-ever 20-episode series. “It’s been an exciting journey to explore the complexities of relationships in the digital world. This format allows us to deeply explore character arcs and relationship dynamics,” he added.
