Amazon MX Player, Amazon’s free ad-supported streaming platform, is making a significant leap in the global content space with the addition of over 20 new international shows to its V-Desi catalogue. The announcement was made at WAVES 2025—the World Audio Visual & Entertainment Summit held in Mumbai—marking the platform’s boldest content expansion yet.
According to an official statement from Amazon MX Player, the new slate, which rolls out this May, features a compelling mix of Korean, Mandarin, and Turkish dramas, as well as a brand-new Anime category—a first for the service. This move cements Amazon MX Player’s status as India’s leading free streaming destination for dubbed international content, with a diverse and growing library of over 200 shows now available in Hindi, Tamil, and Telugu.
With the goal of bringing premium global entertainment to Indian screens, the upcoming titles promise a mix of genres to cater to wide-ranging tastes. Viewers can expect the high-stakes corporate romance of ‘Fake It Till You Make It’, the heartfelt journey in Wenderella’s Diary, the emotional intensity of Turkish drama ‘Chrysalis’, and the imaginative fantasy of ‘Fish Knows You’. Fans of Korean dramas can also look forward to acclaimed titles like ‘Gaus Electronics’ and ‘Pride’ and ‘Prejudice’, blending humour, romance, and dramatic flair.
In a move that further enhances its content offering, Amazon MX Player is introducing Japanese anime to its service for the first time. Popular titles such as ‘Spy × Family’, ‘Demon Slayer’, ‘One Punch Man’, and ‘JoJo’s Bizarre Adventure’ will be available in Hindi, fully dubbed and accessible for free to Indian audiences. This category debut reflects the growing appetite for anime in India and is a direct response to the rising demand from younger viewers.
“We’re incredibly excited to bring over 20 new international titles as we expand our dubbed content catalog, including the debut of our Anime category,” said Amogh Dusad, Director and Head of Content, Amazon MX Player. “This marks another significant step in enhancing the viewing experience for our audience. We’re committed to offering premium, localised content for free, making global entertainment accessible to a wider audience in India, with a diverse range of shows they can enjoy every week.”
With weekly additions and a continued focus on regional dubbing, Amazon MX Player’s V-Desi initiative is reshaping how Indian viewers experience global entertainment. Its AVOD model not only makes premium content accessible but also reinforces India’s emergence as a key market for international media.
