Amazon MGM Studios has officially unveiled the gripping first trailer of its upcoming crime thriller ‘Crime 101’, starring Chris Hemsworth, Halle Berry, and Mark Ruffalo. The highly anticipated film, set against the glitzy yet dangerous backdrop of Los Angeles, is slated for a theatrical release on February 13, 2026.
According to a Variety report, ‘Crime 101’ follows an elusive jewel thief (played by Hemsworth) who orchestrates a string of high-stakes heists along the iconic 101 freeway. As he plans what could be his final and most daring job, his path collides with that of an insurance broker (Berry), resulting in an uneasy alliance built on mistrust and shared motives. Meanwhile, a relentless detective (Ruffalo) closes in, setting off a tense cat-and-mouse chase that blurs the line between predator and prey — forcing each of them to face the consequences of their choices.
Based on Don Winslow’s acclaimed novella, the film is directed by Bart Layton, best known for American Animals and The Imposter. The screenplay has been co-written by Layton and Peter Straughan, who won the Academy Award for Best Adapted Screenplay for Conclave in 2025.
