Akshay Kumar took a moment to appreciate the dedication and sacrifices of India’s police force during a special episode of Wheel of Fortune, where he looked beyond puzzles and prizes to acknowledge the relentless efforts of officers serving the nation.
According to a press note, the special episode featured serving police personnel including Sandeep Sharma from Uttar Pradesh Police, Sayali Karekar from Mumbai Crime Branch, and Mumbai Head Constable Amol Kamble. Their presence on the show moved Kumar, who addressed the audience and highlighted the immense responsibility and demanding nature of police service.
Before commencing the Double Dhamaka round, Kumar spoke candidly about the pressures faced by the force. “Yeh jo police ka kaam hota hain, it’s a very thankless job, sachi bata raha hoon. Shayad mere hisab se jitna kuch main janta hoon 830 Hindustaniyon keliye ek police officer, toh andaza lagaye inko kitna kaam karna padta hai,” he said, drawing attention to the workload carried by officers across the country.
He further emphasised the demanding schedules and the long working hours endured by personnel in uniform, noting that they often work 16 to 18 hours a day without regular leave. He also praised their commitment during festivals and public holidays, pointing out that while citizens celebrate occasions like Holi or Ganesh festivities, police officers remain on duty to ensure public safety and order.
Kumar also touched upon the emotional challenges faced by their families, acknowledging the personal sacrifices made when officers are unable to spend time at home due to professional responsibilities. In honour of their service, he urged the audience to show respect to those in uniform, saying that whenever people encounter police personnel, army officials, or anyone serving the nation, they should salute them for their dedication.
The actor concluded by reminding viewers that the tireless efforts of such officers enable citizens to live peacefully and securely. The special episode of ‘Wheel of Fortune’ airs Monday to Friday at 9 PM on Sony Television and Sony LIV.
