Ajay Devgn and Danish Devgn have formally entered the technology-led content space with the launch of Lens Vault Studios (LVS), unveiling ‘Bal Tanhaji’ as the company’s debut production and first original intellectual property.
Positioned as a next-generation entertainment studio, Lens Vault Studios aims to build expansive story worlds by blending creative ambition with emerging technologies.
Arriving six years after the blockbuster’ Tanhaji: The Unsung Warrior’, ‘Bal Tanhaji’ expands the franchise universe by exploring fresh narratives that go beyond the conventions of traditional Bollywood storytelling. Rather than revisiting the familiar, the new show extends the legacy into alternative formats, marking a deliberate shift from theatre-first content to digital-first, long-format storytelling.
At the heart of this initiative is Prismix Studios, Lens Vault Studios’ in-house generative AI unit, which has developed the creative and technological framework powering Bal Tanhaji. The use of Gen AI and allied technologies underlines LVS’s focus on reimagining how stories are conceived, produced, and experienced, especially for younger, digitally native audiences.
The launch of Lens Vault Studios signals a broader strategy to create scalable, long-format IPs across fiction and non-fiction genres, designed specifically for evolving consumption habits on digital platforms. The studio’s approach reflects an intent to future-proof storytelling by combining cinematic sensibilities with technology-driven innovation.
Ajay Devgn, Chairman of Lens Vault Studios, said the vision behind the company goes beyond conventional production values. He noted that the studio is keen to explore storytelling formats that remain largely untapped, drawing on decades of experience in large-scale cinema while applying it to new mediums. ‘Bal Tanhaji’, he said, represents the first step in this creative evolution.
Danish Devgn, Founder and CEO of Lens Vault Studios, described Bal Tanhaji as the studio’s first generative-AI-led IP and a bridge between a successful legacy and the future of storytelling. He said the aim is to carry the Tanhaji universe forward while connecting with the next generation through narratives that blend strong emotional cores with cutting-edge technology.
With ‘Bal Tanhaji’, Lens Vault Studios positions itself at the intersection of content, technology, and franchise-building, signalling a clear intent to redefine how Indian story worlds are created and expanded in the digital era.
