Bharti Airtel on Monday announced the launch of ‘Airtel Cartoon Network Classics’, an exclusive value-added service on Airtel Digital TV, developed in collaboration with Warner Bros. Discovery.
The new channel brings together a rich library of iconic Cartoon Network animated shows, positioning itself as a dedicated destination for nostalgia-driven, family-friendly entertainment.
According to an Airtel press release, the channel curates some of the most loved animated franchises that defined childhoods across generations. Viewers can revisit timeless favourites such as ‘Tom and Jerry’, ‘The Flintstones’, ‘Looney Tunes’, ‘Scooby-Doo’, ‘Johnny Bravo’ and several other classics that continue to enjoy popularity even decades after their original run. The offering is aimed at audiences who grew up watching these shows, while also allowing families to introduce younger viewers to characters that shaped global pop culture in the 1990s and early 2000s.
Commenting on the launch, Pushpinder Singh Gujral, DTH Business Head, Airtel, said the new service adds a distinctive layer to Airtel’s entertainment portfolio. He noted that Airtel Cartoon Network Classics gives customers an opportunity to reconnect with iconic stories and characters that remain relevant even today. Gujral added that the channel will be available to all DTH and IPTV users, and aligns with Airtel’s focus on delivering curated, high-quality viewing experiences.
The channel is priced at Rs.59 per month and is available on Channel 445 in both English and Hindi. It is offered as an ad-free service and can be accessed across connected set-top boxes such as Airtel Xstream and IPTV, as well as non-connected HD and SD boxes, ensuring uninterrupted viewing without the need for additional equipment.
Arjun Nohwar, Managing Director, South Asia, Warner Bros. Discovery, said the collaboration reflects the company’s effort to keep iconic characters and stories accessible for today’s audiences. He said the partnership with Airtel enables fans to relive cherished childhood memories, while also introducing a new generation to the original cartoons that have entertained audiences worldwide for decades.
With the launch of ‘Airtel Cartoon Network Classics’, Airtel continues to expand its range of value-added entertainment services, reinforcing its focus on differentiated, family-oriented content. Subscribers can activate the channel easily through their set-top box, by giving a missed call, or via the Airtel Thanks app, allowing instant access to classic cartoons without complex activation steps.
