Sanjay Dutt’s upcoming film ‘Aakhri Sawaal’ has unveiled its teaser, offering a glimpse into a narrative that dives into provocative historical and ideological questions.
According to a UNI report, the teaser hints at a storyline that touches upon sensitive and debated moments in India’s past, from the aftermath of Mahatma Gandhi’s assassination to references around the Babri Masjid demolition, positioning the film as a thought-provoking exploration of truth, perception and history.
The film features a strong ensemble cast including Amit Sadh, Namashi Chakraborty, Sameera Reddy, Neetu Chandra and Tridha Choudhury, adding depth to its layered narrative.
At the centre of the story is Vicky, a bright but impulsive scholar navigating his academic journey in a rapidly evolving India. When his thesis is rejected, he accuses his mentor, Professor Gopal Nadkarni, of bias. What begins as a personal disagreement soon escalates into a national television debate, drawing attention to larger questions around history, ideology and truth.
The narrative builds on the dynamic between a guru and his disciple, gradually revealing deeper motivations behind Vicky’s relentless questioning. As the story unfolds, his “last question” uncovers a long-buried secret that has the potential to either vindicate the professor or unravel everything.
Produced under the banner of Nikhil Nanda Motion Pictures, the film is backed by Nikhil Nanda and co-produced by Sanjay Dutt alongside Punit Nanda, Dr. Deepak Singh, Gaurav Dubey and Ujjwal Anand. The project is directed by National Award-winning filmmaker Abhijit Mohan Warang, with writing by Utkarsh Naithani.
The music for the film has been composed by Monty Sharma, with lyrics by Kumar Vishwas, adding another layer to its storytelling. ‘Aakhri Sawaal’ is slated for a theatrical release on May 8, 2026, positioning itself as a film that blends drama with introspection on some of the country’s most debated narratives.
