In a recent development, Adesh Kumar Gupta, currently serving as a Director at Zee Entertainment Enterprises Ltd (ZEEL), has communicated his decision not to pursue re-appointment following the upcoming annual general meeting (AGM).
Gupta conveyed this through a formal letter addressed to the company, citing personal reasons and prior commitments as the driving factors behind his withdrawal.
The announcement was officially disclosed by ZEEL to the Bombay Stock Exchange (BSE) on Thursday, acknowledging Gupta’s decision to relinquish his role as Director post the AGM.
Upon his exit, Gupta will no longer retain positions within key committees, including membership in the audit committee and chairmanship of the risk management committee and stakeholders relationship committee of the board.
In his letter, Gupta expressed regret about being unable to continue his directorship at Zee Entertainment due to personal obligations. He stated, “I withdraw my re-appointment as director of the company at the AGM.” Additionally, he conveyed his best wishes for the company’s future endeavors, expressing hope for the timely completion of the pending merger with Sony, while wishing great success for the enterprise.
Gupta’s decision marks a notable change within the leadership structure of ZEEL, stirring anticipation and curiosity as the company approaches its imminent AGM and navigates through a crucial phase, particularly concerning its merger plans with Sony.
