In a significant development, ABP News has surpassed Aaj Tak in the weekly viewership rankings for Hindi news, securing a dominant 77.1 million views in the week of November 16–22, 2024. With a 15 percent market share, ABP News has now claimed the top position in the Hindi news category, surpassing key competitors like Aaj Tak and India TV.
Meanwhile, ABP Majha has taken the lead in the Marathi news market, outperforming TV9 Marathi and News18 Lokmat. The channel recorded 74 million views during the week of November 9–15, 2024, and captured 39 percent of the market share. ABP Majha’s strong performance was fueled by its extensive coverage of the Maharashtra elections, which helped propel it to the top spot on YouTube in the Marathi news segment, the news network said in a press release.
