Aamir Khan Productions has partnered with an Australian production house for its upcoming film ‘Silkyara 41’, with filmmaker Kabir Khan set to direct the project. The announcement marks a major international collaboration for the production banner.
The film, according to an ANI report yesterday, is inspired by the 2023 Silkyara tunnel rescue operation in Uttarakhand where 41 workers were trapped inside a tunnel for more than two weeks before being rescued in a large-scale operation that drew national and international attention.
The collaboration with the Australian production company aims to bring global filmmaking expertise and technical support to the project. The film will be jointly produced by Aamir Khan Productions and the Australian partner, while Kabir will direct the feature.
‘Silkyara 41’ is expected to recreate one of India’s most remarkable rescue missions on the big screen. The film will focus on the courage, resilience and coordinated efforts of rescue teams that worked around the clock to safely bring all 41 workers out of the tunnel.
