An upcoming episode of ‘Tum Ho Naa – Ghar Ki Superstar’ is set to strike an emotional chord with viewers as contestant Shilpa opens up about her difficult yet inspiring journey to motherhood. Her heartfelt story leaves host Rajeev Khandelwal deeply moved and brings an emotional atmosphere to the stage.
According to a channel press release, Shilpa shares that becoming a mother had always been her dream. A self-confessed lover of children, she spent years caring for her younger cousins, niece and nephew. However, due to medical complications, she was unable to conceive naturally, leading her and her husband down a long and challenging path toward parenthood.
During the episode, Shilpa reveals that she underwent IVF treatment, but the first attempt was unsuccessful. Hoping for a different outcome, she tried IVF again a few years later, only to suffer another heartbreaking setback when the pregnancy ended in a miscarriage. After years of emotional struggle, the couple eventually began exploring surrogacy as a way to fulfil their dream of having a child.
Speaking about the difficult phase, Shilpa shares that her mother, a gynecologist, stood firmly by her side throughout the journey. Despite the emotional challenges involved, her family’s support helped her remain hopeful.
The most touching part of her story came when she spoke about her sister-in-law, Sreelakshmi. Pointing towards her on stage, Shilpa recalled how Sreelakshmi witnessed every high and low of her journey. She shared that after Sreelakshmi became a mother herself, Shilpa spent six months helping her care for the baby and supporting her through the early stages of motherhood.
Shilpa then revealed the extraordinary gesture that changed her life. While she and her husband were preparing to opt for surrogacy, Sreelakshmi volunteered to become their surrogate. Following medical evaluations and approvals, the family moved ahead with the process, and in April 2019, IVF treatment was initiated. Their daughter, Shikha, was born in December 2019.
Expressing gratitude, Shilpa described Sreelakshmi as the true Lakshmi of their home, saying she had brought immeasurable happiness to the family. She also shared her wish to perform Anna Daan as a tribute to the sacrifices made by her sister-in-law.
Speaking about the selfless act, Shilpa emotionally said, “Sab log kehte hai ki Kanyadaan sabse bada daan hai, par Kokh Daan se zyada bada daan koi bhi nahi hai.”
As a mark of appreciation, she expressed her desire to donate grains equivalent to Sreelakshmi’s weight through Anna Daan.
The emotional story left Rajeev Khandelwal visibly moved. Reflecting on the bond shared by the two women, he said, “Main abhi soch raha tha, rishte khoon se toh hote hi hain, lekin mujhe lagta hai woh rishte khoon dete hain jo ek doosre ko mehsoos karte hain, ek doosre ke jazbaat samajhte hain.”
The moving moment left many in the audience teary-eyed, turning the episode into a celebration of family, sacrifice, unconditional love and the many forms that motherhood can take.
