Apple TV has announced that the sixth season of its acclaimed espionage drama ‘Slow Horses’ will premiere globally on September 16, with Academy Award-winning actor Gary Oldman returning to headline the series.
The streaming platform also released a first-look preview of the upcoming season, which will consist of six episodes. The new chapter will debut with its premiere episode on September 16, followed by weekly releases, culminating in the season finale on October 21, according to a PTI report.
Based on the bestselling ‘Slough House’ novels by Mick Herron, ‘Slow Horses’ follows a group of disgraced British intelligence officers assigned to Slough House, a department within MI5 reserved for agents who have made career-ending mistakes. Led by the unconventional and often abrasive Jackson Lamb, played by Oldman, the team frequently finds itself entangled in high-stakes espionage operations despite being sidelined by the intelligence establishment.
Known for blending sharp humour with tense spy-thriller storytelling, ‘Slow Horses’ has earned widespread critical acclaim since its debut, with particular praise directed at Oldman’s performance as the scruffy yet brilliant intelligence veteran.
The upcoming season is expected to continue the show’s mix of espionage intrigue, dark comedy and complex character dynamics that have made it one of Apple TV’s most successful original drama franchises.
