Acclaimed actor Edgar Ramirez has joined the cast of the second season of HBO’s crime drama series ‘Task’, adding another prominent name to the show’s expanding ensemble as production gears up for its next chapter.
Ramirez will star alongside Oscar nominee Mark Ruffalo, who returns as FBI agent Tom Brandis, the central character from the first season. The upcoming season will also feature previously announced cast members Mahershala Ali, Harry Melling, Adam Nagaitis and Aminah Nieves, PTI has reported.
The addition of Ramirez further strengthens the cast of the critically acclaimed series, which has earned praise for its gripping storytelling, complex characters and intense crime-drama narrative. While details about Ramirez’s character remain under wraps, his involvement is expected to bring additional depth and star power to the new season.
Ramirez is widely recognized for his versatile performances across television and films. His television credits include acclaimed series such as ‘The Undoing’, ‘The Assassination of Gianni Versace: American Crime Story’, ‘Carlos’ and ‘Dr. Death’.
On the big screen, the actor has appeared in several notable productions, including ‘Emilia Perez’, ‘Jungle Cruise’ and ‘Les Arenas’.
HBO has not yet revealed plot details for the second season of ‘Task’, but the return of Ruffalo alongside an ensemble featuring Ali and Ramirez signals the network’s continued investment in the series following the strong critical response to its debut season.
