Samsung TV Plus has expanded its Free Ad-Supported Streaming Television (FAST) offerings in India with the launch of Green Gold TV, a dedicated 24×7 channel from Green Gold Animation, one of the country’s leading animation studios known for creating popular children’s content.
According to a Green Gold TV, press release, the new channel is now available on Samsung TV Plus and has been placed within the Kids category on the platform. The launch is aimed at providing families with easy access to animated entertainment without requiring subscriptions, registrations or login credentials.
The move marks a significant milestone in Green Gold Animation’s expansion into the connected television ecosystem. Through Green Gold TV, viewers will be able to watch a curated lineup of the studio’s popular animated franchises, including ‘Mighty Raju’, ‘Super Bheem’, ‘Krishna Balram’, ‘Krishna’, ‘Chorr Police’ and ‘Luv Kushh’.
Designed as a linear 24-hour channel, Green Gold TV will follow a structured programming schedule. Weekdays will primarily feature episodic content, which will account for nearly 70 per cent of the programming lineup, while weekends will focus on movie premieres and special presentations. The channel will be available in Hindi and is targeted at both young viewers and family audiences.
The launch comes as the FAST model gains momentum in India, supported by growing connected TV adoption and increasing consumer demand for premium content experiences that are free and easily accessible. By partnering with Samsung TV Plus, Green Gold Animation is positioning itself to reach a wider audience that is increasingly embracing ad-supported streaming services.
Samsung TV Plus has emerged as one of the leading FAST platforms globally, with more than 100 million active users across 30 countries. The partnership allows Green Gold Animation to leverage the platform’s growing reach while introducing its content to viewers who prefer watching entertainment on larger screens in a lean-back viewing environment.
Commenting on the development, Rajiv Chilaka, Founder and CEO of Green Gold Animation, said the partnership reflects changing content consumption habits among Indian families. He noted that while traditional television offered ease of access and digital platforms provided greater choice, FAST services are bringing together the best of both worlds by delivering simple and scalable viewing experiences.
Chilaka added that Green Gold TV represents an important step in the company’s long-term strategy and expressed confidence that FAST platforms will become an integral part of the future entertainment ecosystem.
Kunal Mehta, General Manager and Head of Business Development at Samsung TV Plus India, said the partnership strengthens the platform’s children’s content offering while creating opportunities for shared family viewing experiences. He noted that collaborations with content creators such as Green Gold Animation help Samsung TV Plus build a curated entertainment environment that prioritises accessibility and viewer convenience.
The launch also reflects a broader shift in Green Gold Animation’s content distribution strategy. Unlike its digital video offerings, the FAST channel has been designed as a curated long-form viewing experience specifically tailored for connected television audiences. As the FAST segment continues to evolve in India, Green Gold TV positions the company among the early players seeking to shape the future of children’s and family entertainment on ad-supported streaming platforms.
With connected TV consumption steadily rising across the country, the partnership underscores the growing role of FAST channels in delivering premium content experiences while giving audiences greater flexibility in how they discover and consume entertainment.
