Prime Video has announced June 5 as the premiere date for its upcoming original drama series ‘The Pyramid Scheme’, a story that delves into ambition, greed, and the seductive promise of quick money. Produced by The Viral Fever (TVF), the series will stream exclusively on Prime Video in Hindi across India and more than 240 countries and territories worldwide.
According to a Prime Video press release, ‘The Pyramid Scheme’ is created by Shreyansh Pandey, directed by Ashish R Shukla and Shreyansh Pandey, and written by Akshendra Mishra. The drama features an ensemble cast led by Paramvir Singh Cheema, Ranvir Shorey, Shekhar Suman, Aanjjan Srivastav, Alfia Jafry, and Ashish Raghava. Supporting roles are played by Akhilendra Mishra, Smita Bansal, Vijay Kumar, Indresh Malik, Ravi Bhel, Sushant Singh, Sonal Jha, and Sadanand Patil.
Set in the culturally rich city of Haridwar, the series follows Goldy, played by Paramvir Singh Cheema, a charismatic young man striving for a better future. His life takes an unexpected turn when he is drawn into the flashy yet deceptive world of pyramid marketing. Alongside Manoj Srivastava, portrayed by Ranvir Shorey, Goldy embarks on a journey fuelled by dreams of success. However, what begins as a quest for a better life gradually descends into a web of greed, ambition, and betrayal. Through its narrative, the series explores the emotional and human consequences of pursuing success at any cost.
Speaking about the show, Manish Menghani, Director and Head of Content Licensing at Prime Video India, said the platform remains committed to backing authentic and emotionally engaging stories that reflect the aspirations of audiences across the country. He noted that The Pyramid Scheme stands out for its relatable themes of ambition and the difficult choices people make in pursuit of a better life. Menghani also highlighted the performances of Paramvir Singh Cheema, Ranvir Shorey, and Shekhar Suman, while praising TVF for consistently creating culturally rooted and impactful stories.
Vijay Koshy, President of TVF, said the creators wanted to explore themes of ambition, validation, and pyramid schemes—an area that has rarely been depicted on screen. He added that the collaboration with Prime Video has enabled the team to bring distinctive stories to audiences in India and around the world. Koshy expressed confidence that the vision of directors Ashish R Shukla and Shreyansh Pandey, combined with the strong cast, would make The Pyramid Scheme an engaging watch when it premieres on June 5.
The launch of ‘The Pyramid Scheme’ is also part of Prime Video’s broader entertainment lineup ahead of its annual Prime Day event, which returns to India this July for its tenth edition, offering members a mix of deals, new launches, and exclusive entertainment content.
