Actors Karan Wahi and Surbhi Jyoti are set to headline ‘Seven and a Half Dates’, a romantic comedy series that is being positioned as India’s first musical web series. The show has been announced by actor-turned-filmmaker Shaalien Malhotra, who has also co-directed the project.
According to a PTI report, the eight-episode series has been co-directed by Shaalien Malhotra along with actor Suyyash Rai. The show is scheduled to premiere on May 24 and will stream on the YouTube channel of Novice Records.
‘Seven and a Half Dates’ revolves around a romantic comedy narrative and is expected to blend storytelling with music-driven elements. The makers have revealed that the series will feature eight original compositions, making music a central part of the narrative rather than just a supporting element.
The project marks another digital outing for Karan Wahi, who has previously appeared in several television and OTT projects, while Surbhi Jyoti continues to expand her presence across web-based entertainment formats after gaining popularity through television dramas.
With musical storytelling gradually finding space in India’s digital entertainment landscape, the makers are positioning ‘Seven and a Half Dates’ as an experimental and fresh-format web series aimed at younger audiences looking for light-hearted romance combined with original music.
