Prime Video has unveiled the high-octane trailer of its upcoming original series ‘Lukkhe’, a gritty musical action drama that blends rap, crime and relationships. The eight-episode series, directed by Himank Gaur and produced by Vipul D. Shah and Rajesh Bahl, is set to premiere on May 8.
According to a Prime Video press release, the trailer was launched at a high-energy music concert in Mumbai, where live performances set the tone for the show’s raw and stylised world. The event also saw the release of the series’ music album in collaboration with Amazon Music and Warner Music India, further underlining the central role of music in the narrative.
Headlined by Raashii Khanna and rapper-singer KING, who makes his acting debut with the series, ‘Lukkhe’ also stars Palak Tiwari and Lakshvir Singh Saran in key roles. The ensemble cast includes Nakul Roshan Sahdev, Kritika Bharadwaj, Shivankit Parihar, Yograj Singh and Ayesha Raza Mishra.
The trailer offers a glimpse into a charged narrative where rap battles, personal ambitions and crime intersect. At its core is MC Badnaam, played by KING, whose rivalry with MC OG fuels much of the tension, while parallel storylines explore relationships, including the evolving dynamic between Lucky and Sanober. As the story unfolds, themes of revenge, redemption and identity come to the forefront, driven by a pulsating soundtrack that ranges from hard-hitting rap to emotionally layered melodies.
Director Himank Gaur described the series as an exploration of a world that is “loud, emotional and constantly on edge,” with music serving as a key medium of expression for its characters. Raashii Khanna highlighted the emotional depth of her character, while KING called the project a defining moment in his career as he transitions into acting. Palak Tiwari and Lakshvir Singh Saran also emphasised the layered storytelling and emotional intensity that shape their characters’ journeys.
‘Lukkhe’ will stream exclusively on Prime Video in Hindi across India and in more than 240 countries and territories worldwide from May 8, positioning itself as a high-energy addition to the platform’s growing slate of original content that blends music with storytelling.
