Nick Jonas is set to headline an upcoming untitled romantic comedy, marking another addition to his expanding film slate. The project will be directed by Ari Sandel, known for ‘The DUFF’.
According to a UNI report, the screenplay has been written by Tamara Chestna, whose previous credits include ‘Something from Tiffany’s’ and ‘Moxie’. The story centres around a carefree bachelor whose life takes an unexpected turn when he inherits his cousin’s infant child.
As the character begins to adjust to fatherhood, the narrative introduces a new twist with the arrival of the child’s godmother during the holiday season, who seeks custody. The situation evolves into a heartfelt and unexpected romance, blending humour with emotional depth.
The film is being produced by Steve Barnett for Monarch Media, along with Mark Ross for Lincoln Road Films, Spencer Berman, and Nick Jonas himself under his banner Powered by Jonas. Tamara Chestna is also attached as a producer, while Alan Powell and Vicky Patel will serve as executive producers for Monarch.
Jonas has been maintaining a busy run in films. He recently premiered his musical dramedy ‘Power Ballad’ at the South by Southwest festival and is set to appear in ‘White Elephant’ alongside Kathryn Newton. He will also feature in the next instalment of the ‘Jumanji’ series with Dwayne Johnson, Jack Black, and Kevin Hart.
With its mix of romance, comedy, and an unconventional family setup, the film is expected to offer a light-hearted yet engaging narrative, further strengthening Jonas’s presence in the global entertainment space.
