The makers of ‘The Devil Wears Prada 2’ have released the final trailer, offering a glimpse into a high-stakes narrative that brings back one of fashion cinema’s most iconic characters while placing her in a rapidly evolving, digital-first world. Nearly two decades after the original film, the sequel revisits familiar faces while introducing new dynamics and conflicts.
According to an ANI report, the film reunites its core cast, including Meryl Streep, Anne Hathaway, Emily Blunt and Stanley Tucci, while also adding new names such as Simone Ashley in a key supporting role. The trailer opens with ‘Runway’, an original track performed by Lady Gaga and Doechii, setting the tone for a story centred on transformation and rivalry.
The narrative once again revolves around Miranda Priestly, played by Meryl Streep, who now finds herself navigating a declining influence in the traditional print fashion industry. Once an unchallenged authority, her character is shown grappling with the pressures of staying relevant in a digital era while confronting a powerful luxury conglomerate.
The trailer also revisits the journeys of Andy Sachs and Emily Charlton. Andy, portrayed by Anne Hathaway, returns as a confident senior journalist and Features Editor at Runway, while Emily Blunt’s character has evolved into a high-ranking executive within a luxury group. Their reunion with Miranda hints at sharp exchanges and layered tensions, reflecting both personal history and professional rivalry.
Among the new additions, Simone Ashley’s character Amari stands out, appearing poised and influential within Miranda’s circle. The film also features returning actors such as Tracie Thoms and Tibor Feldman, along with new cast members including Kenneth Branagh, Patrick Brammall, Lucy Liu, B. J. Novak, Justin Theroux and Pauline Chalamet. Notably, Adrian Grenier will not be returning for the sequel.
Directed by David Frankel and written by Aline Brosh McKenna, the sequel reunites the original creative team, including producer Wendy Finerman. The first film was both a critical and commercial success, earning significant global acclaim and box office returns.
With its blend of nostalgia, evolving character arcs and a contemporary take on the fashion industry, ‘The Devil Wears Prada 2’ is set for a theatrical release on May 1, 2026, and is expected to draw strong audience interest as it revisits a beloved cinematic universe with a modern twist.
