‘The Boys’ final season trailer unveiled, series to conclude on April 8

Prime Video has unveiled the official trailer for the fifth and final season of its globally popular superhero drama ‘The Boys’, setting the stage for what promises to be an explosive conclusion to the critically acclaimed series. The upcoming season will premiere exclusively on Prime Video on April 8, 2026, marking the beginning of the show’s final chapter.

According to a press release issued on Friday, the much-anticipated fifth season will launch with two episodes on its premiere date, followed by a weekly episode rollout. The series finale is scheduled to stream on May 20, 2026. Produced by Sony Pictures Television and Amazon MGM Studios, the show will be available to audiences across more than 240 countries and territories worldwide.

The newly released trailer offers a glimpse into the intense and chaotic world awaiting viewers in the final season. As the story reaches its climax, the narrative unfolds in a world dominated by Homelander, whose erratic and egomaniacal control has thrown society into turmoil. Several central characters face grave circumstances, with Hughie, Mother’s Milk and Frenchie imprisoned in what is described as a ‘Freedom Camp.’

Meanwhile, Annie attempts to rally resistance against the powerful Supe forces, while Kimiko’s whereabouts remain unknown. The dramatic turn of events intensifies when Billy Butcher returns, prepared to deploy a deadly virus capable of wiping out every Supe. His reappearance triggers a chain reaction that could permanently alter the fate of both heroes and humans, setting the stage for a final confrontation.

Based on the New York Times best-selling comic series by Garth Ennis and Darick Robertson, The Boys has built a massive global following since its debut. The series is developed by showrunner and executive producer Eric Kripke, with Ennis and Robertson also serving as executive producers.

The show’s production team includes Seth Rogen, Evan Goldberg, James Weaver, Neal H. Moritz, Pavun Shetty, Phil Sgriccia, Michaela Starr, Paul Grellong, David Reed, Judalina Neira, Jessica Chou, Gabriel Garcia, Ori Marmur, Ken F. Levin and Jason Netter as executive producers.

Produced by Sony Pictures Television in association with Amazon MGM Studios, Kripke Enterprises, Original Film and Point Grey Pictures, the series has earned multiple Emmy Awards and widespread acclaim for its bold storytelling, dark humour and gritty take on the superhero genre.

With the final season now on the horizon, fans can expect the long-running battle between The Boys and the Supes to reach a dramatic and decisive end.
