The trailer of Netflix’s upcoming psychological thriller ‘Accused’, starring Konkona Sen Sharma and Pratibha Ranta, was unveiled on Saturday, offering a gripping glimpse into a story centred on reputation, truth and emotional turmoil.
The film traces the journey of a respected doctor whose life spirals into chaos after allegations of sexual misconduct emerge at her workplace.
According to an ANI report, the trailer introduces viewers to Dr Geetika Sen, a celebrated surgeon and gynaecologist whose world begins to unravel when a complaint against her surfaces. As scrutiny intensifies and rumours spread, her personal and professional life begins to collapse, with her seemingly stable married life showing visible cracks.
The video opens with Geetika receiving a departmental complaint regarding alleged misconduct. Disturbed and shaken by the accusation, she is seen battling against mounting pressure and public judgement while trying to prove her innocence. The trailer captures the emotional strain and psychological conflict faced by the protagonist as she struggles to protect her credibility and identity.
Directed by Anubhuti Kashyap and produced under the banner of Dharmatic Entertainment, the film promises a tense narrative exploring themes of ambiguity and moral conflict. The makers shared the trailer through Netflix’s official Instagram handle.
Speaking about the film, director Anubhuti Kashyap said that ‘Accused’ explores the consequences of being denied clarity. She noted that the trailer reflects the emotional stillness and unease that define the narrative and expressed gratitude to Netflix for supporting a story that resists easy answers and embraces ambiguity.
Konkona Sen Sharma, who portrays Dr Geetika Sen, described her character as a woman accustomed to control over her work and credibility, whose internal world collapses under intense scrutiny. She said the project drew her in because of its focus on emotional depth, adding that the film relies on performance and silence rather than spectacle.
Pratibha Ranta, who plays Dr Meera in the film, shared that her role involved navigating a complex emotional space marked by uncertainty and trust. She also appreciated the platform for presenting layered stories about women and their experiences.
‘Accused’ is scheduled to premiere on February 27 exclusively on Netflix, and is expected to offer an intense psychological narrative examining truth, perception and the fragility of reputation.
