Prime Video’s Indian originals — ‘The Family Man’, ‘Panchayat’ and ‘Paatal Lok’ — have emerged among the streamer’s most-watched non-English titles globally, underlining the growing international appeal of Indian storytelling.
The announcement was made at the platform’s inaugural ‘Prime Video Presents: International Originals’ showcase held in London on February 12, a PTI report from New Delhi stated yesterday.
The event highlighted Prime Video’s international content slate through 2026 and reflected the increasing global demand for non-English language films and series. The showcase emphasised how regional narratives are finding wider audiences across borders, driven by compelling storytelling and expanding digital access.
The platform revealed that three Indian series — ‘The Family Man’ season three, ‘Panchayat’season four and ‘Paatal Lok’ season two — featured in its list of the top 10 most-watched non-English International Originals of the past year, based on their global performance. The recognition marks a significant milestone for Indian streaming content, reinforcing its ability to resonate with viewers beyond domestic markets.
Over the past few years, Indian web series have steadily built strong global viewership, with themes rooted in local realities but told through universally engaging narratives. From the high-stakes espionage drama of ‘The Family Man’ to the grounded rural storytelling of ‘Panchayat’ and the gritty investigative world of ‘Paatal Lok’, these shows have attracted diverse audiences worldwide.
The announcement also signals Prime Video’s continued focus on investing in international originals, particularly from markets such as India, where regional content is increasingly shaping global entertainment trends.
