Offbeet Media Group has appointed media veteran Rohit Tugnait as Chief Executive Officer of 101 India, marking a significant step in the revival and expansion of the youth-focused digital platform following its acquisition by the company.
The leadership move underscores Offbeet Media’s intent to build 101 India into a leading destination for culture-led storytelling aimed at young audiences.
According to an official press release issued by Offbeet Media Group, Tugnait will lead 101 India into its next phase of growth, with responsibility for shaping its creative direction, business strategy and long-term vision. The appointment comes into effect immediately and is positioned as a cornerstone of the group’s aggressive growth plans for 2026.
Tugnait brings over two decades of experience across digital and television media, with a strong track record in building and scaling youth-centric brands. He was previously the India head of VICE Media Group, where he played a key role in establishing the brand’s relevance among consumers and advertisers in the country. At 101 India, he is expected to steer the platform’s evolution into a definitive space for distinctive stories drawn from across India’s cultural and social landscape.
Commenting on the appointment, Jaideep Singh, Founder of Offbeet Media Group, said the group’s focus for 2026 is rapid expansion, with 101 India at the heart of that vision. He expressed confidence that Tugnait’s leadership, alongside other experienced industry professionals, would help chart a strong growth trajectory for the brand.
Sharing his vision for the platform, Tugnait described 101 India as a uniquely positioned destination that reflects facets of India rarely seen through a cultural lens. He highlighted formats such as ‘Dinner with Dons’, which captures candid conversations with former criminals, and ‘Oddly in India’, which presents human-interest stories with an unconventional twist.
He said the platform already has a deeply engaged community, which will be expanded through new content, fresh formats and, eventually, the use of AI-driven storytelling. According to him, 101 India in 2026 will be defined by ambitious stories and equally ambitious benchmarks.
With renewed leadership and a sharper focus on culture-first narratives, 101 India is set to delve deeper into India’s cultural, subcultural and countercultural fabric. The platform is designed for a new generation of storytellers and audiences, connecting with young India through stories that blend cultural depth with contemporary realities. Its content spans videos, articles and original series distributed across YouTube, social media platforms and its own website.
Offbeet Media Group, a next-generation media and entertainment company, operates a diverse portfolio that includes 101 India, US Premier League, Offbeet Studios and Offbeet Music. With Tugnait at the helm of 101 India, the group is signalling a renewed push to create a culturally resonant, youth-first media brand with national scale and impact.
