Netflix has marked 10 years of its presence in India with the release of a special commemorative film narrated by superstar Shah Rukh Khan, celebrating the platform’s decade-long storytelling journey and its growing bond with Indian audiences.
According to a PTI report, the streaming giant said the film goes beyond commemorating an anniversary, capturing the shared habit of watching, feeling and falling in love with stories together. It reflects how Netflix has evolved alongside Indian viewers since its launch in the country a decade ago, becoming part of everyday conversations and viewing rituals.
Warm and emotionally resonant in tone, the film traces Netflix’s journey in India through familiar moments and cultural cues. It highlights the subtle shift in how people talk about content—from casual exchanges like “Netflix pe kya dekha?” to the now-common question, “Netflix pe kya dekhein?”—underscoring the platform’s deepening presence in daily life.
Narrated by Shah Rukh Khan, whose voice has long been associated with popular culture and mass connection, the film brings together nostalgia and contemporary relevance. It mirrors Netflix’s own arc in India, from being a new entrant in the streaming space to becoming a go-to destination for diverse stories across languages, genres and formats.
Netflix said the film is a tribute to the audiences who have shaped its journey in India, as well as to the creators and storytellers who have found a home on the platform over the past ten years.
