The trailer of the much-acclaimed investigative crime drama ‘Kohrra S2’ has been unveiled, promising a darker, more layered mystery as the series returns with familiar faces and new additions. Barun Sobti reprises his role as Assistant Sub-Inspector Amarpal Garundi, while Mona Singh and Rannvijay Singha join the cast in pivotal roles, expanding the emotional and narrative depth of the Netflix show.
As per an ANI report, the new season centres on the murder of a woman found dead in her brother’s barn, a case that quickly spirals into a complex web of suspects and unsettling revelations. Mona Singh steps in as Dhanwant Kaur, a new commanding officer who teams up with Garundi to investigate the crime. The trailer hints at simmering tensions, buried secrets and moral dilemmas, with each character appearing to carry their own version of the truth.
Rannvijay Singha plays the husband of the deceased, adding another layer of intrigue to the investigation. His character’s presence deepens the mystery, raising questions about motive, relationships and the emotional undercurrents that run through the case.
Speaking about returning to the gritty world of ‘Kohrra’, Barun Sobti said Garundi enters the new season hoping for a fresh start, only to realise that the past is never easy to escape. He described the mystery this time as denser and more layered, mirroring Garundi’s own internal conflict. According to the actor, Season 2 pushed him in new ways, making the character more introspective, guarded and constantly at odds with his own choices.
Mona Singh shared that stepping into the world of ‘Kohrra’ was both exciting and daunting because of its nuanced writing. She described Dhanwant Kaur as a woman of few words but immense resolve, navigating loss, responsibility and the pressure to prove herself, often without overt expression.
A Film Squad Production in association with Act Three, ‘Kohrra S2’ is produced by Saurabh Malhotra, Sudip Sharma, Manuj Mittra and Tina Tharwani. Directed by Sudip Sharma and Faisal Rahman, the new season is set to premiere on Netflix on February 11, promising a gripping continuation of the atmospheric crime saga.
