Zee Studios and Bhansali Productions have unveiled the teaser of their upcoming romantic drama ‘Do Deewane Seher Mein’, giving audiences a first look at a film that promises an intimate and contemporary take on love. Starring Siddhant Chaturvedi and Mrunal Thakur, the film is described as a tender story of two imperfect individuals navigating romance in a fast-moving city.
According to a UNI report, the teaser was released on January 19 and has already drawn attention for its nostalgic yet modern tone. Directed by Ravi Udyawar, the film is positioned as a “perfect love story between two imperfect people,” capturing emotions that linger quietly rather than unfolding through grand declarations.
Set primarily in Mumbai, the teaser weaves in the iconic song ‘Do Deewane Seher Mein’ from the 1977 classic ‘Gharaonda’. Originally sung by Bhupinder Singh and Runa Laila, composed by Jaidev with lyrics by Gulzar, the song adds a layer of emotional depth and familiarity, blending the past with the present in a way that reflects the film’s core theme of timeless love.
Siddhant Chaturvedi, who rose to prominence with his breakout performance in ‘Gully Boy’, has since built a diverse body of work with films such as ‘Gehraiyaan’, ‘Kho Gaye Hum Kahan’ and ‘Dhadak 2’. Mrunal Thakur, meanwhile, continues her strong run with notable performances in ‘Sita Ramam’, ‘Jersey’, ‘Son of Sardaar 2’ and Netflix’s ‘Lust Stories 2’. Together, the two actors bring a mix of youthful intensity and emotional restraint to the project.
Director Ravi Udyawar is known for his sensitive storytelling, having previously helmed the critically acclaimed thriller ‘Mom’, Sridevi’s final film, as well as ‘Yudhra’, which also featured Chaturvedi. His association with ‘Do Deewane Seher Mein’ signals a narrative that leans heavily on mood, character and emotional nuance.
The film is produced by Sanjay Leela Bhansali along with Prerna Singh, Umesh Kumar Bansal and Bharat Kumar Ranga, in association with Ravi Udyawar Films. Bhansali, whose recent directorial works include ‘Gangubai Kathiawadi’ and the Netflix series ‘Heeramandi: The Diamond Bazaar’, continues to expand his production slate with stories that explore relationships and human emotions in varied forms.
Zee Studios, which is backing the project, has also been active on the content front, with upcoming releases including the dialogue-free film ‘Gandhi Talks’ starring Vijay Sethupathi, Aditi Rao Hydari, Arvind Swamy and Siddharth Jadhav. The studio has previously produced a wide range of regional and Hindi films, reinforcing its focus on diverse storytelling.
‘Do Deewane Seher Mein’ is scheduled to hit theatres on February 20, and with its evocative teaser and strong creative team, the film is already shaping up as a romantic drama that aims to leave a lasting impression on audiences.
