Actor Kunal Kemmu is all set to reprise his role as Gaurav Gehlot as Netflix has officially renewed its family drama series ‘Single Papa’ for a second season. The announcement comes after the show received a warm response from audiences for its heartfelt storytelling and relatable portrayal of modern family life.
According to an ANI report, Netflix shared the news on its official Instagram handle on Monday, unveiling a poster to confirm the show’s return. “Badhai ho, season 2 hone wala hai! Watch Single Papa: Season 2, coming soon, only on Netflix,” the streaming platform wrote, building excitement among fans of the series.
‘Single Papa’ centres on Gaurav Gehlot, a single father navigating the everyday challenges of parenting while managing family expectations and personal responsibilities. Kunal Kemmu’s understated performance and the show’s simple, emotion-driven narrative struck a chord with viewers, making it one of the more talked-about family series on the platform.
The series also drew appreciation for its sensitive depiction of adoption. India’s Central Adoption Resource Authority (CARA) had earlier acknowledged ‘Single Papa’ for presenting the adoption process in a responsible and realistic manner, adding to the show’s credibility and social relevance.
Alongside Kemmu, the ensemble cast includes Prajakta Koli, Manoj Pahwa, Ayesha Raza, Neha Dhupia, Suhail Nayyar, Dayanand Shetty, Aisha Ahmed and Isha Talwar, whose performances contributed to the warmth and authenticity of the Gehlot family’s world.
Season 2 is expected to pick up from where the first season left off, delving deeper into the evolving dynamics of the Gehlot family. The new chapter will explore fresh situations and personal changes as Gaurav continues to grow into his role as a father.
Created by Ishita Moitra and Neeraj Udhwani, ‘Single Papa’ is produced by Juggernaut Productions, with Shashank Khaitan serving as executive producer. Direction duties are shared by Shashank Khaitan, Hitesh Kewalya and Neeraj Udhwani. While the release date for the second season is yet to be announced, the makers have promised that it will arrive soon on Netflix.
