ShemarooMe has announced the digital premiere of the much-anticipated Gujarati film ‘Shubhchintak’, set to stream exclusively on the platform from December 18, 2025.
Directed by Nisarg Vaidya, the film marks a notable addition to Gujarati cinema by blending dark comedy with thriller elements, offering viewers a genre-driven narrative that balances humour, tension and emotional depth.
According to a ShemarooMe press release, ‘Shubhchintak’ brings together a strong ensemble cast and introduces a fresh storytelling approach to the regional industry. The film stars Manasi Parekh, Swapnil Joshi, Viraf Patell, Deep Vaidya, Mehul Buch, Tusharika Rajyaguru, Nisarg Trivedii, Morli Patel and Viya Rathod. Produced by Parthiv Gohil and Manasi Parekh, with Dhaval Thakkar, the project also marks Swapnil Joshi’s debut in Gujarati cinema, adding to the film’s appeal.
The story follows Meghna, a novice who, along with two accomplices, sets out to honey-trap Sanjay as part of a carefully planned act of revenge. What begins as a calculated move soon unravels into a chain of comic mishaps, emotional confrontations and unforeseen outcomes. As the narrative unfolds, Meghna finds herself torn between vengeance and conscience, raising questions about whether revenge can ever bring closure or if it ultimately causes greater damage.
Speaking about the film, actor-producer Manasi Parekh said, “Shubhchintak is a fast-paced dark-comedy thriller and brings a completely fresh flavour to Gujarati cinema. We’re excited that the film is now premiering on ShemarooMe, a platform that has been instrumental in bringing such experimental stories to viewers who crave fresh narratives. After the overwhelming love for Kutch Express and Jhamkudi, we felt inspired to push boundaries and explore a genre that Gujarati cinema rarely taps into. The film also marks Swapnil Joshi’s debut in Gujarati cinema, which makes this journey even more special. Our constant aim is to expand the horizon of Gujarati storytelling, and Shubhchintak is a step forward in that direction.”
With ‘Shubhchintak’, ShemarooMe continues to expand its Gujarati content library with diverse and engaging stories, reinforcing its focus on regional storytelling that experiments with form and genre. The platform has steadily built a reputation for bringing fresh Gujarati cinema to digital audiences.
Audiences can stream ‘Shubhchintak’ exclusively on ShemarooMe starting December 18, 2025.
