ZEE5 has unveiled the trailer of its upcoming original film ‘Saali Mohabbat’, a genre-blending how-dunnit that marks actor Tisca Chopra’s debut as a feature film director.
The streaming platform confirmed that the film will premiere on December 12, adding another title to its lineup of homegrown originals.
According to a PTI report, ‘Saali Mohabbat’ is backed by Jio Studios and Manish Malhotra’s Stage5 Production, bringing together a cast that includes Radhika Apte, Divyenndu Sharma, Anurag Kashyap, Anshumaan Pushkar, Sharat Saxena and Sauraseni Maitra. The film marks a significant shift for Chopra, who steps behind the camera for the first time with a story that blends intrigue, emotion, and an unconventional narrative tone.
At the centre of ‘Saali Mohabbat’ is Smita, played by Apte, a woman leading a quiet, almost invisible existence in the sleepy, wintry town of Fursatgarh.
The trailer hints at a world where buried truths, shifting motives and unexpected connections gradually unravel, setting the tone for a mystery that leans more on psychological tension than traditional thriller beats. Divyenndu, Kashyap and the ensemble cast appear in roles that add further complexity to a story rooted in small-town stillness and the secrets it often shelters.
