The fairways of Jaypee Greens Golf & Spa Resort in Greater Noida on the outskirts of Delhi are set to host a rare convergence of industry leaders, professional golfers and sporting icons as the inaugural edition of the NDTV Golf ProAm tees off on November 22.
Conceived as a platform where leadership, talent and sporting passion meet on equal ground, the event aims to broaden the appeal of golf and build a vibrant, more inclusive community around the sport, according to an NDTV press release yesterday.
The first edition of the ProAm golf has been designed as much more than a competitive outing — it is envisioned as the start of a nationwide movement to make golf more accessible, aspirational and community-driven. The tournament will bring together top names from India Inc, alongside professional golfers and emerging talent, creating a space for conversation, collaboration and high-quality competition.
Among the notable participants this year is cricket legend and PGTI president Kapil Dev who joins a powerful line-up of industry leaders, including Arjun Sharma, chairman of Blackstone Select Citywalk REIT; former G20 Sherpa Amitabh Kant; Kapil Kapoor, Country Lead – Google Distributed Cloud, Google Cloud APAC; Vishesh C. Chandiok, CEO of Grant Thornton Bharat; Anil Chadha, CEO of ITC Hotels; Ashutosh Johri, Director – Kyndryl India (IBM); Amit Luthra, Managing Partner at Luthra & Luthra; Ashish Mittal, Director at India Gate Rice and Devesh Gupta, Executive President at Jagran Prakashan.
The tournament will also feature a roster of professional golfers who will lend both expertise and inspiration to the event. Tapendra Ghai, Abhinav Lohan, Amardeep Malik, Amrit Lal, Rohit Narwal, Vishav Pratap Singh Gill, Rajesh Kumar Gautam, Himmat Rai, Wasim Khan, Vikrant Chopra and Gurbaaz P. S. Mann are among the pros who will compete and engage with participants on course, offering a rare chance for amateurs to share the fairway with some of India’s finest.
Positioned as the opening chapter of a larger national vision, the tournament will travel across major cities including Delhi, Bengaluru, Mumbai and Kolkata, aiming to create a year-round calendar that caters to India’s growing corporate and golfing communities.
Speaking about the launch, Rahul Kanwal, CEO & Editor-in-Chief of NDTV, said, “The NDTV ProAm is our way of opening the fairways to a much wider community. Golf in India has often been seen as exclusive, but we believe it can become a democratic space where leadership, sport, and shared ambition meet. When India’s top CEOs play alongside pros and emerging talent — the game becomes more accessible, the energy becomes more collaborative, and the possibilities multiply.”
