Amazon MX Player yesterday, while unveiling a teaser, said Munawar Faruqui returns in ‘First Copy’ Season 2 as Arif battles new enemies in this gripping saga of Mumbai’s 90s film piracy world. It also features Krystle D’Souza and Gulshan Grover.
After a breakout debut that captivated audiences across India, the MX Player statement added, the series follows the journey of Arif, a character whose rise and fall in Mumbai’s underground piracy network struck a chord with viewers nationwide.
The first season of ‘First Copy’ had gained widespread praise for its gritty, authentic portrayal of Mumbai in the 90s and the stronghold of film piracy that flourished during that era.
The teaser for season two captures a world where ambition and betrayal collide with Faruqui reprising his role as Arif, once a kingpin of piracy, now a man at war with his past, surrounded by those who want to bring him down.
The series also features Saqib Ayub, Ashi Singh, Meiyang Chang, Inam Ul Haq and Raza Murad. Joining the ensemble cast would be Nawab Shah.
Season 2 promises new twists, higher stakes, as Arif takes on new challenges. As old alliances crumble and new enemies rise, the teaser leaves behind one burning question: will Arif reclaim his empire, or become a victim of his own making?
Amazon MX Player has a strong focus on original content and has launched some big shows in India, including ‘Ek Badnaam Ashram’ ‘Campus Diaries’, ‘Half CA’ and ‘Dehati Ladke’.
