Netflix has unveiled the official trailer of ‘Kurukshetra’, its groundbreaking new animated series that reimagines the timeless saga of the Mahabharata through the eyes of 18 warriors — each torn between dharma, destiny, and the choices that shaped history. At the heart of this retelling lies the profound truth voiced by Lord Krishna: ‘Iss yuddh mein na koi mitra hai, na koi shatru’ (In this war, there are no friends or enemies).
Set to premiere on October 10, ‘Kurukshetra’ delves deep into the emotional and moral complexities of India’s greatest dharmayuddh (war of righteousness), where family bonds were tested, and loyalties torn apart. From Arjuna’s soul-stirring dilemma on the battlefield and Draupadi’s fierce pursuit of justice, to Duryodhan’s unrelenting ambition and Bhishma Pitamah’s solemn wisdom, the series captures the essence of humanity’s eternal struggle between duty and desire.
According to a Netflix Pressroom report, ‘Kurukshetra’ has been conceptualized and created by Anu Sikka, and produced by Tipping Point under the leadership of Alok Jain, Anu Sikka, and Ajit Andhare. Written and directed by Ujaan Ganguly, the series comes to life through the visual mastery of Hitech Animation. Adding poetic depth to the narrative is the legendary Gulzar, whose evocative verses lend soul and substance to the unfolding epic.
With its striking animation, powerful storytelling, and an evocative musical score, ‘Kurukshetra’ invites audiences to witness the Mahabharata as never before — raw, emotional, and profoundly human.
The series premieres on October 10, only on Netflix.
