Zee TV’s latest fiction offering ‘Tumm Se Tumm Tak’ has opened to an encouraging response, making its way into BARC India’s Top 10 list within its very first week. The show premiered with a television rating of 1.55, securing the 8th position on the chart, which, the company said, is a rare feat for a debuting weekday drama.
The series tells the story of Anu, a 19-year-old girl from a modest background, played by Niharika Chouksey and Aryavardhan, a 46-year-old emotionally distant business tycoon, portrayed by Sharad Kelkar. Their unusual connection unfolds in a tone that leans towards subtlety and emotional realism, setting it apart from the louder, high-octane narratives that dominate Hindi general entertainment channels (GECs).
“The character of Anu represents resilience and hope. It’s refreshing to see such nuanced stories being told,” said lead actress Niharika Chouksey, reflecting on the early success of the show.
‘Tumm Se Tumm Tak’ has drawn attention for its grounded visual style and restrained performances, striking a chord with audiences looking for depth in prime-time storytelling. The show’s refusal to lean on melodrama and its focus on character-driven plots appears to be paying off, both critically and commercially.
Early viewer feedback and critic reviews have highlighted the show’s mature storytelling, emotional authenticity, and departure from formulaic tropes. This has helped Zee TV tap into a more discerning segment of the audience that seeks realism and layered characters on screen.
