Filmmaker Vivek Ranjan Agnihotri, known for his bold and politically charged narratives, is all set to bring the final chapter of his much-talked-about trilogy to the screen. Titled ‘The Delhi Files: The Bengal Chapter’, the film marks the third instalment after ‘The Tashkent Files’ and ‘The Kashmir Files’, both of which stirred widespread conversation across the country.
As per an IANS report, Agnihotri’s latest project is expected to continue his signature style of exploring India’s lesser-discussed historical and political episodes through cinema. While official plot details are under wraps, the filmmaker’s tweet announcing the film suggests a new chapter that delves deep into the intersection of national history and regional identity, possibly set against the politically charged backdrop of Bengal.
Taking to social media, Agnihotri wrote, “The trilogy is now complete. Presenting The Delhi Files: The Bengal Chapter. See you in cinemas soon.” The announcement, though brief, has already sparked curiosity among his followers and cinema watchers, with many speculating on the central theme the film will tackle.
Agnihotri’s previous films in the trilogy carved out their own space in India’s socio-political discourse. ‘The Kashmir Files’ in particular became one of the most debated films of its time, drawing both critical praise and political criticism while breaking box office records. With the bar set high, expectations are riding on this final part to carry forward the same emotional intensity and investigative lens.
The filmmaker has not yet revealed casting details or a release date, but if the pattern of his earlier projects is anything to go by, ‘The Delhi Files: The Bengal Chapter’ will likely spark another round of national conversation.
