SPN to telecast India’s Tour of England in 4 languages

New Delhi, 09 June, 2025, By IBW Team

Tour of England

Sony Sports Network is all set to bring the much-awaited India tour of England 2025 to cricket fans across the country, with an expansive multi-language broadcast that marks a new era for Indian cricket. Beginning June 20, the five-Test series will be aired live from some of England’s most iconic cricket venues including Lord’s, Edgbaston, Headingley, Old Trafford, and The Oval.

Branded as a defining moment for the ‘Naya Team India’, the tour will not only see a young Indian squad taking on one of the sport’s toughest challenges — but also witness the return of Sony’s flagship studio show Extraaa Innings. This comprehensive coverage, coupled with region-specific commentary and analysis, promises an immersive viewing experience for fans across the country.

The entire series will be broadcast in English, Hindi, Tamil, and Telugu, ensuring regional accessibility and in-depth analysis in viewers’ preferred languages. Fans can tune into Sony Sports Ten 5 and Sony Sports Ten 1 for English commentary, Sony Sports Ten 3 for Hindi, and Sony Sports Ten 4 for Tamil and Telugu.

In a press announcement, Sony unveiled an exceptional lineup of former players and cricket personalities who will headline its coverage. The English panel boasts the likes of Sunil Gavaskar, Michael Vaughan, Nasser Hussain, Cheteshwar Pujara, Mike Atherton, Harsha Bhogle, and Sanjana Ganesan. The Hindi team features Ajay Jadeja, Irfan Pathan, Ashish Nehra, RP Singh, Vivek Razdan, Saba Karim, and others, while the Tamil and Telugu commentary panels include regional legends such as Hemang Badani, Bharat Arun, WV Raman, and Venkatapathy Raju.

This tour comes at a pivotal time for Indian cricket. With veterans Rohit Sharma and Virat Kohli having stepped away from the longest format, the leadership mantle now lies with the promising Shubman Gill. Fans are hopeful that, like the historic series wins of 1971, 1986, and 2007 — all under debutant captains — this new generation can channel the same resilience and lead India to another rare Test series triumph on English soil.

Further raising anticipation is Sony’s upcoming campaign film led by Sunil Gavaskar, Irfan Pathan, Gaurav Kapur, and Sanjana Ganesan, who respond to the on-screen challenge posed by Michael Vaughan and current English players Mark Wood, Harry Brook, Jamie Smith, and Gus Atkinson. Set to the cult classic song ‘Kasam Paida Karne Wale Ki’, the promo captures the gritty spirit of Team India and their burning desire to settle old scores in hostile territory.

As the broadcast network renews its commitment to delivering top-tier cricket coverage, the India-England 2025 series is shaping up to be not just a contest of skill, but a symbolic shift for Indian cricket — ushering in a new era of leadership, ambition, and storytelling.
