DD News has witnessed a major surge in viewership and digital engagement following the launch of its flagship news program, ‘Decode with Sudhir Chaudhary’. Hosted by veteran journalist Sudhir Chaudhary, the show has swiftly emerged as a key pillar of DD News’ prime-time lineup, capturing the attention of a broad and highly active audience.
According to a press release issued by DD News—also shared by Chaudhary via his official Facebook page—the show’s impact was visible from its very first broadcast. Known for its sharp analysis and in-depth discussions, ‘Decode with Sudhir Chaudhary’ has fundamentally altered news consumption habits on the channel. The program’s powerful storytelling and relevant topics have resulted in substantial spikes in Television Rating Points (TRP), lifting DD News’ 9 pm to 10 pm weekday slot to new levels of popularity.
The press note also details the show’s overwhelming success across digital platforms, particularly YouTube. DD News’ official YouTube channel saw exceptional traction in May 2025, driven largely by the debut of ‘Decode’. The very first episode, launched on May 15, garnered nearly 2.6 million views, a new benchmark for the channel in the news segment. By the end of the month, the show had amassed a total of 23.9 million views, accounting for a staggering 48.58 percent of DD News’ total 49.2 million views on YouTube in May.
The digital footprint extended further. With 148 million video impressions from Decode alone, the program contributed 67.89 percent of the channel’s overall 218 million impressions in the same period. Additionally, DD News recorded a major jump in its subscriber base, with over 453,000 new subscribers added in May—clearly showing the draw of Chaudhary’s presence.
Airing every Monday to Friday at 9 pm, ‘Decode with Sudhir Chaudhary’ has positioned itself as a trusted news program offering sharp insights, robust data-backed analysis, and engaging storytelling on national issues. Its rising numbers and engagement reflect not only a renewed interest in DD News but also Sudhir Chaudhary’s continued relevance and command in India’s television news space.
