JOJO OTT has announced that it will debut a curated selection of flagship Gujarati films on Prime Video’s Movie Rentals platform starting May 2025. This strategic move is poised to broaden the horizon for regional entertainment and elevate Gujarati cinema to a national stage.

According to a press release issued by the company, this collaboration between JOJO Movies and Prime Video will mark a major milestone for Gujarati content creators and audiences alike. By offering premium Gujarati films on a leading global streaming platform, the initiative aims to bridge cultural gaps and bring the richness of regional storytelling to viewers across the country.

Among the highlights of this rollout are audience-favourite titles like ‘3 Ekka’, ‘Veer Esha Nu Seemant’, and other critically acclaimed and commercially successful Gujarati films. These titles, previously accessible to niche audiences, will now be just a click away for millions of viewers across India, thanks to Prime Video’s rental service.

Commenting on the development, Dhruvin Shah, Founder & CEO of JOJO Movies, said, “We are at a turning point in the evolution of regional cinema, and our collaboration with Prime Video is a game-changer for both Gujarati cinema and regional content as a whole. This isn’t just about distribution—it’s about redefining how regional stories are shared, valued, and experienced nationally.”

Shah further added that the move responds to a rising demand for culturally rooted storytelling, and that JOJO Movies has always strived to bring powerful regional narratives to the forefront. “The availability of Gujarati films via Movie Rentals on Prime Video underscores the increasing appetite for diverse Indian voices,” he noted.

The announcement also underscores a broader trend in the Indian streaming industry, where regional content is emerging as a key driver of digital engagement. Platforms like Prime Video are increasingly recognising the value of local language films—not just as a content category, but as a vital cultural asset with strong commercial potential.

JOJO Movies’ decision to leverage Prime Video’s rental platform reflects an innovative approach to content distribution. It offers regional filmmakers new avenues for monetization, while also expanding the visibility of their work beyond traditional markets. For consumers, it promises easy access to high-quality entertainment in their own language or one they’re curious to explore.

As regional cinema continues to find its voice and space in the digital age, this move by JOJO Movies may well serve as a template for other languages and markets. By making Gujarati films more accessible, the company is not only creating a commercial breakthrough but also celebrating cultural identity on a national platform.
