After a long hiatus, Aamir Khan is back on the silver screen with ‘Sitaare Zameen Par’, and the trailer for the much-anticipated film was officially unveiled on Tuesday by the makers.
The film, described as a heartwarming narrative celebrating inclusivity with a dash of humour, is being eagerly awaited by fans and cinephiles alike.
As per a report by Press Trust of India (PTI), ‘Sitaare Zameen Par’ is being positioned as a spiritual successor to the 2007 blockbuster ‘Taare Zameen Par’, which Aamir had both directed and starred in. The new film, however, takes a different storytelling route while carrying forward the core theme of empathy, acceptance, and understanding, especially toward children who are often perceived as ‘different’.
Directed by R S Prasanna, who is known for his sensitive storytelling in ‘Shubh Mangal Saavdhan’, the film marks a significant collaboration under the banner of Aamir Khan Productions. The trailer hints at a mix of comedy and emotion, with Aamir returning in a role that resonates deeply with audiences who admired his work in the original film nearly two decades ago.
Scheduled for a theatrical release on June 20, ‘Sitaare Zameen Par’ is expected to be one of the biggest summer releases of 2025, drawing audiences with its emotionally engaging plot and Khan’s long-awaited comeback.
The trailer has already generated buzz across social media platforms, with fans praising its tone, visual appeal, and the sensitive issues it appears to tackle. The film is poised to continue Aamir Khan’s tradition of meaningful cinema that entertains and enlightens.
