The International Indian Film Academy (IIFA) Awards 2025 is all set to celebrate a landmark moment in Indian cinema by paying tribute to the legendary film ‘Sholay’, which marks its 50th anniversary this August.
The silver jubilee edition of IIFA, scheduled to take place in Jaipur on March 8-9, 2025, will honour the timeless classic directed by Ramesh Sippy, further cementing its place in cinematic history.
‘Sholay’, regarded as one of Bollywood’s most iconic films, revolutionized Indian cinema with its gripping storytelling, unforgettable characters, and powerful dialogues. Starring Sanjeev Kumar, Amjad Khan, Dharmendra, Amitabh Bachchan, Hema Malini, and Jaya Bachchan, the film remains a cultural phenomenon even after five decades.
As part of the grand celebration, IIFA 2025 will host a special screening of ‘Sholay’ at Jaipur’s iconic Raj Mandir Cinema, allowing fans to relive the magic of the classic on the big screen.
The awards night will also recognize cinematic excellence across 10 key categories, including Best Picture, Best Direction, Best Performance in a Leading Role (Male & Female), Best Supporting Performance (Male & Female), Best Performance in a Negative Role, Music Direction, and Playback Singing (Male & Female).
With Jaipur serving as the backdrop for this year’s IIFA, the event is expected to be a star-studded extravaganza, blending Bollywood glamour with the rich cultural heritage of Rajasthan.
