Actor Bobby Deol is all set to reprise his role as the controversial Baba Nirala in the much-awaited second part of Aashram Season 3, titled ‘Ek Badnaam Aashram’, streaming soon on Amazon MX Player.
Directed by Prakash Jha, ‘Aashram’ is a gripping crime drama that delves into the murky world of power, faith, and deception. The show follows Baba Nirala, a self-styled godman whose spiritual empire is a façade for fraud, drug trade, and exploitation. Since its debut, the series has gained a cult following, and fans have been eagerly waiting for the next chapter, PTI reported.
At Amazon MX Player’s slate announcement event, Deol recalled being shocked when Jha first offered him the role of Baba Nirala.
“When Prakash ji narrated the story, I assumed he wanted me to play the cop. But when he said I was Baba, I was stunned. This role has been life-changing. The way Prakash ji wrote it, and the way every actor performed, made Aashram what it is today,” said Deol, who was last seen in Animal.
Jha, known for politically charged films like ‘Raajneeti’ and ‘Gangaajal’, thanked Amazon and MX Player for backing his vision.
“The story of Aashram resonates deeply with audiences. From airport staff to CISF jawans, people tell me they’re eagerly waiting for this. I’m sure they’ll love these five upcoming episodes,” Jha stated.
Alongside Deol, the ensemble cast includes Aaditi Pohankar, Chandan Roy Sanyal, Darshan Kumaar, Anupria Goenka, Adhyayan Suman, and Tridha Choudhury.
While the official release date remains under wraps, Jha confirmed that the next five episodes will drop soon, promising more intrigue, power struggles, and shocking revelations.
