Mara Creations, known for its culturally rooted original IP content, has joined forces with the globally renowned Toonz Media Group to distribute ‘Sriman Rama’, a 2D animated series celebrating the childhood adventures of Lord Rama.
The brainchild of National Film Award-winning creator Satyakashi Bhargava, ‘Sriman Rama’ delves into unexplored narratives from the Ramayana, focusing on Lord Rama’s early years, where his interactions with his brothers—Lakshmana, Bharata, and Shatrughna—friends, and sister Shantha are brought to life. With themes of camaraderie, valor, gratitude, and righteousness, the series captures Rama as the epitome of ideal human values, making these timeless lessons accessible and engaging for children worldwide.
Bhargava expressed optimism about the collaboration, stating, “Inspired by the eternal Valmiki Ramayana, we’ve crafted stories filled with fun, adventure, and learning. These tales aim to inspire children, especially in a world that often feels divided. Partnering with Toonz Media Group ensures Sriman Rama reaches a global audience, showcasing the rich heritage of Indian storytelling.”
Toonz Media Group CEO P. Jayakumar echoed this sentiment, emphasizing the potential of India’s storytelling legacy,“India’s cultural heritage remains an untapped treasure trove. Our collaboration with Mara Creations underscores the power of Indian narratives to resonate universally, showcasing our rich creativity to the world.”
Currently airing in Hindi on DD National, ‘Sriman Rama’ has gained traction among viewers and is set to expand its reach through Prasar Bharati’s new OTT platform, ‘Waves’. Plans are underway to make the series available in multiple languages, broadening its appeal.
