Actor Huma Qureshi has officially completed the shooting for her highly anticipated film ‘Gulabi.’ The 38-year-old actress took to her Instagram on Friday evening to share the news, captioning her post, “It’s a wrap on #Gulabi … can’t wait to show u all. She is coming soon!!”
Directed by Vipul Mehta, ‘Gulabi’ is produced by Jyoti Deshpande of Jio Studios and Vishal Rana of Echelon Productions. The film is inspired by a true story, focusing on a woman autorickshaw driver in Ahmedabad who aspires to pursue higher education and, in doing so, motivates others to rise above their circumstances. The project was initially announced earlier this year in celebration of International Women’s Day.
In a statement, Qureshi emphasized her commitment to choosing roles that portray women as fearless characters. She stated, “’Gulabi’ is a reminder that every woman has the right to dream big and reclaim her story.” Qureshi elaborated on her choice of films, saying, “My attempt as an actor has been to do films which tell stories of women who are fearless and have belief in themselves. Be it ‘Leila,’ ‘Tarla,’ ‘Maharani,’ or ‘Monica,’ I strive to be part of stories where women go against the tide to achieve their dreams.”
Fans eagerly await the release of ‘Gulabi,’ which promises to be an inspiring and empowering tale.
