Shemaroo Umang, a prominent player in the entertainment industry, has teamed up with acclaimed producer Gul Khan to launch the supernatural thriller ‘Shamshaan Champa’. Set to make its prime-time debut on August 20, 2024, the show will air Monday to Saturday at 9:00 pm exclusively on Shemaroo Umang.
The series features popular actress Monalisa as Mohini, alongside Trupti Mishra as Champa and Aayush Srivastava as Vikram. Other key roles are portrayed by Mohammad Nazim, Tia Gandwani, Indrajeet Modi, and Yash Bhatia.
Produced under Gul Khan’s Four Lions Films, ‘Shamshaan Champa’ follows the story of Champa, a small-town girl who, after an unexpected twist of fate, is resurrected as a daayan (witch). Rather than succumb to her new identity’s darker nature, Champa chooses to wield her supernatural powers for good, crafting a unique blend of fantasy and romance.
Sandeep Gupta, COO of Broadcasting Business at Shemaroo Entertainment, expressed excitement about the partnership with Gul Khan, noting that the supernatural genre has a strong following and Shamshaan Champa will be a compelling addition to the channel’s diverse programming.
Gul Khan, known for her expertise in fantasy and supernatural genres, emphasized the fresh take the show offers on the traditionally feared daayan figure. She praised the cast for bringing the story to life, particularly Monalisa’s bold new role, Trupti Mishra’s innocent portrayal of Champa, and Aayush Srivastava’s dynamic Vikram.
Don’t miss the premiere of ‘Shamshaan Champa’ on August 20, 2024, for a thrilling supernatural journey.
