Business Today hosted a precursor webinar for its flagship event, ‘Adani BT India@100,’ featuring prominent speakers Rahul Kanwal, Siddharth Zarabi, Sourav Majumdar, and Shailendra Bhatnagar. The discussion centered on India’s trajectory toward becoming a global leader by 2047, marking its 100th year of independence.
The webinar delved into Prime Minister Modi’s vision of a ‘Vikasit Bharat’ and the challenges in escaping the middle-income trap. Sourav Majumdar, Editor of Business Today, emphasized the need for sustained 7-10% growth over the next few decades to realize this vision. Key growth drivers discussed included energy transition, digitalization, and manufacturing, the channel said in a press release.
Rahul Kanwal highlighted the importance of the “India@100” initiative, aiming to outline strategies for economic development and global leadership. Shailendra Bhatnagar provided insights into the capital markets, noting a significant increase in monthly SIP contributions, reflecting local money-driven growth.
Siddharth Zarabi pointed out the challenges facing MSMEs, which constitute 30 percent of India’s economy, and the geopolitical issues that need addressing. He also discussed the middle-income trap and the necessity for India to advance to a high-income economy.
The webinar set the stage for the ‘Adani BT India@100’ forum on August 20 at Bharat Mandapam in New Delhi, where corporate leaders, policymakers, and thought leaders will further explore India’s path to becoming an economic powerhouse by 2047.
